Golf Players Nightmare: Sand Traps and Trees
A golfer’s nightmare - You have somehow eliminated the slice you have been struggling with, you have the perfect swing and the perfect stance. Yet, despite doing it all right on paper, you still find yourself occasionally behind the largest tree on the course of standing in knee-deep grass of the course sand trap.
Think about it, though. If the golf course was smooth with no sand, water or bunkers, golfing would soon become boring for even the most committed golfer. Obstacles make the game challenging and a far better game. You can learn to appreciate these traps much more once you know how to get out of the situations they cause for golf players on vacation in Spain or at their local club.
You have a couple options when you find your golf ball hiding behind a large tree. Obviously, one option is to try to bore a hole through the tree so your ball can slide through, but this probably will not pass the approval of course maintenance as well as the other golfers.
Rather, many golfers choose to sacrifice one putt in order to get the ball in a better position. Whether or not this is the better option depends on how much the golfer is willing to risk for that one play and also on the golfer??s ability. A ricochet shot is occasionally an option if there is another tree nearby and in the right position, but in reality the result is far too uncontrollable. There is no way to know how the ball will react once it hits the tree trunk and layered bark.
The best choice is to practice your curve ball before you find yourself at this point. When the time comes, you will be ready to get the ball back on course, save your game and also impress your fellow golfers.
Sand on the golf course presents an entirely new problem for golfers. Many tryout the “whack and see” approach by simply pulling out his or her sand wedge, whacking the ball and then watching the sand fly as they hope the golf ball also took flight.
Consistency is the key to overall success when it comes to golf, and this also goes for those times when you need to get out of the sand box. Simply put, sand is a real problem when trying to get the golf ball back onto the fairway. You will have trouble controlling the putt from the sand trap since golf balls do not roll well in sand.
The best way to get out of a sand trap is to use the wedge and get enough loft to clear the top of the sand trap, though less loft is typically much easier to control. So, you will want to choose your golf wedge carefully.
Ultimately, regardless of whether you are behind a tree, in a sand trap or facing another obstacle, choosing the best club, properly setting up your shot and controlling the ball are the best steps you can take to get back onto the open green.

Vacations in the Western Isles of Scotland
If asked where we are planning to visit for this year’s annual vacation few of us would reply “the Western Isles of Scotland” but to be fair the Western Isles of Scotland have, in the last ten years or so, seen a noticeable increase in tourism. Each year there has been an increase in the number of visitors from elsewhere in the United Kingdom and the U.S.A. Below we examine some of the reasons for this apparent increase in popularity.
You will find the Western Isles just out from the western Scottish mainland across an area of sea called the Minch. Consisting of around 100 islands the archipelago is also known as the Outer Hebrides where the main language is Gaelic. The largest and most densely populated island is the Isle of Lewis which is where you will find the main town of the region, Stornoway.
Because of the fact that, over the centuries, massive numbers of Hebrideans (as people who live in the Western Isles/Outer Hebrides are known) have left the islands to settle elsewhere, such as Canada and America, many folk from around the globe can trace their families roots back to the islands. With the massive increase in interest in genealogy there has been a corresponding increase in interest in the islands.
Sports such as fly fishing, cycling and surfing are extremely popular in the islands due to the unique challenges and incredible rewards that the islands offer. Golfing is as important here than elsewhere in Scotland and all the Hebridean golf courses are incredibly popular. More and more people travel to the islands to enjoy their sports, cyclists enjoy the hard challenge offered by the often rough terrain, surfers enjoy some of the best waves in the United Kingdom and the salmon and trout fishing in the Western Isles is amongst the best in Europe.
If you visit the Western Isles to enjoy sports you will quickly discover how great it is to be surrounded with some of the most incredible scenery in the United Kingdom. Not only is the scenery diverse, if you are lucky, you will also see that the flora and fauna of the Hebrides is also diverse and extremely interesting. Few things are as enjoyable that watching an otter or two at play only a few yards from where you are standing. Take a closer look around and you may see a Golden Eagle or maybe deer.
One place that you really must visit in the Western Isles is Calanais (Callanish) where you will find an amazing stone circle which is only second in important to the famous Stone Henge in England. All around you will see other, smaller, stone circles and numerous monoliths appear all over the islands. Near to Calanais is an excellent example of an iron age broch, a unique building found in the islands which is believed to have served a defensive purpose. Numerous other historic sites such as iron age houses and duns (forts) appear across the islands making it an ideal vacation destination for folk interested in such things.
Another time period to leave it’s mark on the islands is the time of the Viking raids. Often the Vikings would raid the Western Isles on their outward journeys and also on their return journeys. At one time the Norse ruled the islands and most place names can trace their origins to the original Norse name given.
There are many, many more reasons to spend a vacation in the Western Isles of Scotland as we have only scratched the surface of the topic. Most of us like to take a vacation where we can relax on the beach and the Western Isles have some of the most incredible beaches in the United Kingdom. I can not begin to explain how great it is to discover a lovely little bay with soft shell sand where you can spend a whole afternoon enjoying the sounds of the waves while not once seeing another soul. I most enjoy the beaches of South Harris and over on the Uists but there are also astounding beaches to be found along the south west coast of the Isle of Lewis.

Words Of Advice For New Golfers
Golfers will all agree that the sport of golf is something to be marveled. After all, the relaxing sport can reduce stress and help keep golfers in shape- no to mention it’s a sport that allows average consumers to enjoy the beautiful weather on a day by day basis. But being a professional is a lot of work, although there are some friendly words of advice for beginners to get on track.
How the ball is hit is obviously a key aspect in how it’s going to affect the golfer’s score. But the biggest mistake in this department by far is the fact that those new to golf will try and move their arms in the swing- a big mistake indeed. Instead, the torso, upper body, and surrounding areas should drive the golf club- certainly not the hands or arms alone.
There is a big myth floating around that the proper golf form will require that golfers keep their left arm straight (Given that they are right-handed). This is somewhat true, but it isn’t a requirement in observing proper golf form. Professionals have been known to bend their left arm slightly, so following the rule strictly isn’t necessarily giving anyone benefit over those who don’t.
It might not seem like the most important part of the golf swing, but how the hands are positioned and in which way makes a large difference in the overall drive of the golf ball, as well as the precision and consistency. Only through holding the golf club the correct way can beginners learn how to consistently get the golf ball where they want it- in terms of both how far and in which direction they need to target.
Sometimes the best learning isn’t done out on the green, but in the home learning about golf terms. Golfing terms are quite plentiful, and learning them is a must so as to not sound like a novice to other players. Everything from an “honest john” to a “bogey” needs to be learned- of which most can be found in golf books or free online Internet resources.
Lastly, the best practice in golf is going to come from practice. Getting out on the field and golfing at least once a week will do a golfer much good over the course of a few months. On the downtime and on rainy days, it’s also nice to review golf terms and even try golf simulations available with many gaming consoles and online Internet resources. Just like everything else in life, golf is going to have a learning curve- how much one is willing to learn to get past it is going to determine when and how they become a professional at the sport.
In Conclusion
There is much to enjoy in the casual game of golf. Entertainment with friends and family, a way to relax on weekends, or even a way to meet new people. Whatever the case may be, golf is a highly social and competitive sport. As long as one can become an average or professional player, there will be no end of good times in the future. Just remember to practice, practice, and practice some more!

All about Montecristo Cuban cigars
I bet you didn’t know that Cuban cigar rollers are very well educated and talented people. Well maybe you kind of figured that out on your own but I bet you didn’t know they loved reading books. Now why would that matter or what does it has to do with the Montecristo Cuban cigar brand? Well the name ‘Montecristo’ came from a novel that was very interesting to Cuban cigar rollers back in 1935. Soon Mr. Garcia the producer of Cuban cigars started calling his production line ‘Montecristo’.
Since that time, Montecristo cigars have become one of the most popular cigars that are available throughout the entire world and it is held by many to be the standard as far as Cuban cigars are concerned. To be certain, any other Cuban cigars are judged by the Montecristo. The original Montecristo cigars continued to be manufactured and hand rolled for many years without anything new really being added to the brand.
Montecristo also offers a lot machine rolled cigars now which I guess can contribute to it’s decline in popularity. People like the rare and exotic notion that is attached to Cuban cigars and machine rolled cigars really don’t help. However, I understand it as the machine rolled Cuban cigars are very light in taste and great for beginners trying to step into the Cuban cigar genre to expand their horizons and senses. Remember though that the hand rolled version of Montecristo Cuban cigars are still considered one of the best cigars in the world.
Montecristo is a brand that stands out the most no matter what until the Cohiba was created. Montecristo still is one of the best cigars in the world and definitely in the top five. With various models that can suit to anyone’s taste, no one can mess with the beauty of this brand as it’s simply gorgeous in design and feel.
Although this particular cigar generally gives a great smoke with a lot of unique taste, it is also reported that there are inconsistencies at times, even within a particular box. Regardless of what anyone says, the Montecristo will always be a great cigar.

History of Cuban Tobacco
It has been concluded that tobacco was first discovered in times when taking notes or record keeping was not so much of a big thing. However, scientists have confirmed that it was in North America that the first actual use of tobacco occurred. Since North America is also a place where you can find traces of original tobacco plants, it all makes sense. Regardless of when tobacco was discovered, the important thing is that it was. Tobacco smoking and more importantly the profits from it has played an integral part in building our modern civilization. Tobacco sales have continued to sore and beating out anything else, including gold and silver. Tobacco revenue is almost on par with oil sales.
First officially cultivated by the natives, tobacco was part of their heritage. However, it was the Europeans who took it global in particular the people on the ship called the Santa maria. Their was one famous individual on this boat and his name was Christopher Columbus. He sent two people of the boat to check out the place when they first discovered the new land and they came back intrigued.
Tobacco craze was always high class and you were never meant to inhale smoke unlike disgusting cigarettes. You are suppose to enjoy tobacco and feel the flavors on your palette. When Cuban cigars were introduced, this was basically a done deal. This is when the tobacco leaf started getting appreciated by the higher societies around the world and people finally discovered the gem of Cuba.
After all, Cuban cigar fans are everywhere. They are the sophisticated, the elite, the individuals that make things happen. They are the movers and shakers of the world and keep it spinning. Cuban cigar smokers appreciate the good things in life. They are not just your average individuals trying to get by in life. They grab life by the horns and they move them where they personally would like to see their life go.
They have a tradition that goes back hundreds of years and they have mastered this art. When you are getting a Cuban cigar my friend, you are getting the best. That is just how it works and that is how you should roll. If you want the best in life, just like you deserve, than get a Cuban cigar immediately my friend, you deserve it.

Montecristo Cuban cigars 101
One of the most popular Cuban cigars of all time, mentioned in countless movies, tv shows and pretty much all over the world, the Montecristo Cuban cigar made Cuban cigars international on a global level. Started in the year nineteen thirty five by ‘Garci’ as they called him, the Montecristo line up produces one of the best Cuban cigars known to man. It also happens to be quite a treat but we will definitely get to that later.
The Montecristo brand is the most available Cuban cigar or in another words I guess, the most popular one. It was only after Cohiba brand was introduced that the Montecristo’s popularity fell to number two. The construction and the variety of flavors that can be found in this brand is truly amazing and one of the finest hand rolled Cuban cigars ever created in history of not just Cuba but the world.
This has led rise to some rumors that the Montecristo number 4 is what the company uses to train its amateur rollers. Regardless of the possibility that this may be true, it is still the top of the Montecristo cigars and is enjoyed by many, the world over. Frankly, it is the top selling Cuban cigar of all time right after the Cohiba. Before the Cohiba brand was introduced, the Montecristo use to be number one.
If you like a mild to strong cigars but prefer the best in quality, the Montecristo is for you. This brand of Cuba offers a variety of models that will satisfy anyone’s needs. You just can’t beat a Cuban cigar and you can’t beat a Montecristo.

The Myrtle Beach tournaments are also played at one of the many gorgeous golf courses. Golfing exhibitions, too, are held in the Myrtle Beach area for charity.
In fact, a recent study concluded that Myrtle Beach placed at the top as a golf course mecca. It received five stars out of a possible five, which isn’t surprising, given its obvious catering to the golf world.
If you’re still not certain, look for testimonials online from those who have played at Myrtle Beach’s golf courses. The H. Upmann Cuban cigars
A Cuban cigar brand name that is shared by two organizations, the H. Upmann brand is one of the most sought after popular Cuban cigars around. One organization is located in Cuba and the other in the Dominican. However, don’t be confused because the only thing they have in common is the name. The H. Upmann from Cuba is one of the best cigars you can smoke.
Starter by two brothers who moved from Europe to Havana, the H.Upmann brand is shrouded by various stories on how it began. Almost like the Cohiba brand, their is definitely some mystery behind this one. After all, it is one of the top selling Cuban cigar brands of all time. Trailing only the Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo Y Julieta and Partagas. It doesn’t matter to me how it began, I’m just glad that it did.
The mystery behind the origin might be a good marketing tactic to utilize it’s promotion, but it is the great taste and very unique I might add that has established into a Cuban cigar powerhouse. Overall taste or the range of cigars that are produced by this brand has soft to medium flavor. Since they produce so many different types of cigars, you can find hand rolled (Which real Cuban cigar smokers prefer) and machine rolled mini cigars too.
Regrettably, most people in the United States or the ‘unfortunate’ cigar aficionados as I refer to our friends down south, were never able to experience the true completeness of a real H. Upmann from Cuba. Dominican republic version of the H. Upmann brand can be easily obtained but it comes no where close to the precise might of a H. Upmann Cigar. It is all because of the trade embargo that was set that has kept our American friends from trying not just the H. Upmann but various models of Cuban cigars. A embargo set by a fellow Cuban cigar lover, John F Kennedy.
Regardless the uncertain history, no real Cuban cigar lovers can deny the taste and beautiful construction of the H. Upmann’s. A crowd of well established and successful individuals is what this brand represents. From the big names in Hollywood to the movers and shakers in the political spectrum, the H. Upmann represents power, strength and class.

How To Hit A Golf Ball Straight
If you have a swing fault that makes you hit slices or hooks then you need to learn how to hit a ball straight of the tee. Apart from the satisfaction of hitting the ball down the middle of the fairway, you will also increase your distance of the tee. What’s more, you will find yourself with an easier second shot to the green when you are nicely positioned in the middle of the fairway.
What causes so many golfers the inability to hit a golf ball straight? The first thing to understand is why the golf ball moves to the left (a hook) or to the right (a slice) of the tee. Once you know how to fix a slice or a hook, you will then be in a position to learn how to hit a draw or a fade - which are basically just controlled versions of the hook and the slice but with less movement on the ball.
The following descriptions and instruction deals with the slice; for the hook everything is generally reversed. A slice is created by a significant tilt of the spin-axis of the golf ball to the right, or a clockwise spin. A slice usually ends up right of the target line, and the term is often used when the curve in the trajectory is extreme and unintentional. The less extreme version of a slice is called a “fade”.
In the basics of the golf swing, if you want to hit the ball squarely and hit a golf ball straight every time, you must return the club head to the original spot at the impact position. The slice is caused when you leave the club face open when striking the ball, which makes the ball spin in a clockwise movement. The swing path is normally correct but the ball is not struck squarely at impact, mostly because of a “weak grip.”
If you can not hit a golf ball straight, then the first thing to look at is your grip. It doesn’t matter what type of grip you prefer (an interlocking grip, an overlapping grip, or a ten finger grip) the factor that can affect the balls flight path is the strength of the grip. If you want to fix a slice, try moving your hands around to the right into a stronger grip position.
If you want to cure a slice, then try changing some of the following factors: Don’t grip the club too tightly so that your muscles tense up in your wrists and forearms. If you can work on increasing your golf swing speed then not only will you increase your distance, you should be able to reduce the amount of side spin and therefore cut down on the chance of slicing the ball. Check the flex of the shaft that you currently use; if you are a powerful hitter of the ball then use an extra stiff or stiff flex; if you are a medium hitter of the ball then use a regular or firm flex; and if you can’t drive the ball more than 200 yards, then use a ladies or a senior flex.
The address position has to be correct if you want to hit a golf ball straight. You should line up for your shot with your shoulders, hips, and feet all square and parallel to the target line. When teeing off with a driver, the correct ball position is opposite the instep of the left foot. Also, the sole of the club should be grounded and not tilting forwards (standing too close to the ball) or tilting backwards (standing too far from the ball.)
Remember all the swing basics that you were taught; feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly flexed, spine straight and chin up, and keep your eyes on the ball. There is no time for detailed golf swing instruction here but just try to keep your club on the same plane from your back swing to your downswing. Whatever you do, don’t try to over hit the golf ball - maintain the same swing speed during your complete golf swing.
Lastly, there are an other two types of swing faults that will prevent you to hit a golf ball straight - the push and the pull. As opposed the slice, the push shot happens when the ball shoots straight off to the right, and the pull is when the ball goes straight off to the left. The push is a result of an incorrect golf swing when the club goes through an in-to-out plane, and the pull is an out-to-in swing plane. The push or pull shot comes about due to an improper golf swing action and forgetting the basics of the golf swing.

Fix A Slice And Hit A Golf Ball Straight Every Time
If you have a swing fault that makes you hit slices or hooks then you need to learn how to hit a ball straight of the tee. Apart from the satisfaction of hitting the ball down the middle of the fairway, you will also increase your distance of the tee. What’s more, you will find yourself with an easier second shot to the green when you are nicely positioned in the middle of the fairway.
Why is it that many golfers find it difficult to hit a golf ball straight? First it is necessary to comprehend what causes the ball to move from left to right (a slice) or from right to left (a hook). If you know how to fix a slice or hook, you can then practice how to hit a draw or a fade which are useful skills to know so that you can shape your shots around hazards or dog-legs.
If you find that you can not hit a golf ball straight, then the initial problem could be your grip. Whether you use an overlapping grip, an interlocking grip, or a baseball grip, the aspect of your grip that can influence the golf balls flight path is the strength of the grip. So, if you want to fix a slice, move your hands around to the right on the grip into a strong grip position.
There are several other factors you can try to cure a slice. The first is not to grip the club so tightly that you tense up the muscles of the wrist and forearms. Also, work on increasing the speed of your golf swing as a faster swing speed will give you more distance and, most importantly, it will reduce the amount of slice that you pass on to the golf ball. You may be using the wrong flex of shaft which can affect your shots; if you hit over 250 yards then use a stiff or extra stiff flex, from 200 to 250 yards use a firm or regular flex, and under 200 yards use a ladies or senior flex.
If you want to hit a golf ball straight then you have to setup correctly. Line up your feet and shoulders square and parallel to the target line. Even though your right shoulder will be lower than your left, they should still be parallel to the target. The ball position is also important; with a driver, place the ball opposite the instep of your left foot. Stand the correct distance away from the ball so that the club is grounded properly; if it is tilted forward then you are too close to the ball, if it is tilted backwards then you are too far from the ball.
If you occasionally hit a slice or a hook, then go back to the basics of the golf swing. place your feet shoulder width apart, keep your eyes on the ball, knees slightly bent, and back in a straight position with your chin up. In this article I won’t get into details about the golf swing; but just start your back swing straight back and keep your downswing on the same plane. Your swing speed should stay constant throughout the backswing to the downswing and don’t ever try to over swing at the ball.
There are two more swing faults that can stop you to hit a golf ball straight down the fairway - the push shot and the pull shot. Not like the slice, the push shot is when the ball flies of the club face to the right and the pull shot to the left. The push shot is a direct action of the golf swing that is caused by an in-to-out swing path and the pull shot is caused by an out-to-in swing path. Both the push and the pull are effects of an improper golf swing and not remembering the basics of the golf swing.
